Warning: Don’t run another ad until you fix the ‘mistake’ 99% of local advertisers do.

Updated: Oct 3

When it comes to advertising there is one common mistake I keep seeing everywhere.

A mistake that’s been induced by big brands and big marketing agencies.

And no.. I’m not saying their advertising is shit.

I’m just saying that if a local business tries to copy them - it won’t work.

Because most local businesses don’t have a million-dollar-budget for advertising.

At least I hope so.

Because, if you’re spending millions of dollars on ads and your business is still local,

There’s a SLIGHT chance you’re doing something wrong.

You just MIGHT.

Anyways - let’s not get lost from the main subject:

The One Thing you Should Check Before Starting to Run an Ad

That thing is complexity.

Let me explain:

Since school everyone tries to teach us that the more complex something is - the better.

And this MUST be true right?

Wrong!

Especially wrong when it comes to advertising, and here’s why:

Most people try so hard to make things complicated thinking it’s more effective just because “it sounds better”,

They try to replicate what the big companies are doing…

However that only works in movies or if you’re advertising for a colossal company yourself.

But here's the thing:

By complicating things, they actually get less sales than if they kept everything simple.

And this happens because of a simple reason:

Why Complex Ads Scare Customers Away

Imagine this:

You’re scrolling on social media, just trying to see what your friends are up to, or maybe you just want to watch your favorite funny reels when suddenly…

An ad full of pumped words, complex images and insanely long paragraphs pops up,

Will you keep reading?

Of cooourse not.

You’re just trying to relax - maybe you just finished eating or just got off work.

The LAST thing you want to do is turn your brain into overdrive mode to try and decipher a bible-sized ad.

Now... to make things as easy as possible for you - here's a strategy you can easily follow if you want to avoid making people feel overwhelmed by your ad.

The Secret Strategy to Turn Your Ad into a Client Generator

Before you start running ANY ad ask yourself the 3-second rule:

“Is my ad simple enough that people can understand what the ad is about and what they need to do to get in touch - in less than 3 seconds?”

If the answer is “No”, then go ahead and tweak some stuff until you’re answer turns into an “Absolutely yes!”.

By applying this rule, there’s a very high chance that you will get some awesome results with your Meta ads.

So go ahead and try it - you won’t regret it.

Talk soon,

Tony
