Here's why Meta (formerly Facebook) ads are getting more expensive by the year, and what you can do to avoid that as much as you can:
Meta is arguably the best advertising platform on earth, and that is mostly because of their insanely huge database - which basically allows you to target your ideal customers easier than ever before.
Is a user young or old?
Is he married?
Does he like ping-pong or 17th century conspiracy theories?
Meta knows all ‘at.
But how?
Based on the activity of the said user on their apps.
And trust me, it’s 99.98% accurate.
Now, all of the things mentioned above make the platform good…
But the better the platform, the more advertisers they’re going to have, the more expensive running ads will get (according to the law of supply and demand).
So what can you do to keep your ad costs down?
Easy Trick To Avoid Overspending On Your Ads
With Meta’s insane amount of targeting options it can be damn tempting to go insanely narrowed with your audience.
However, the more detailed the targeting is, the more expensive advertising will be, because of the higher amount of competition (AKA more people are trying to reach the same audience you are trying to reach, so again, your ads will get more expensive).
And that doesn’t necessarily mean that you should remove all your targeting options, but you should definitely test “broad targeting” which basically means no targeting at all.
Just try and let Meta’s algorithm do its thing, and since it’s getting smarter and smarter, it could actually work really really well for you. So try it and see how that works.
The Horrible Truth Every Advertiser Is Hiding From You
Before we finish there’s one thing I need to make clear:
Because technology and social media is here to stay, advertising is only going to get more expensive.
After all, every platform has its limits to how many ads they can display.
If they start blasting ads everywhere just to make it cheaper for you, people would just get angry and leave their platforms, so that’s not an option. Advertising isn’t getting cheaper.
The only thing you can do to save your marketing budget from this “advertising inflation crisis” is to just make your ads better and more efficient.
So if you have a lot of free time, learning advertising and marketing would be a pretty good move.
But as a business owner you probably have a lot of other things you need to take care of in your business, so that’s not reallyyyy an option…
I get it, because I’m also a business owner.
But my business is based around marketing and advertising, so whether it’s for my business or a client’s… All my daily focus goes into marketing and advertising.
That’s what I do all day, so naturally that’s what I’m best at.
